Pool Deck Paver Extension and Full Backyard Lawn Restoration

Some backyards need a full reset before they can become what the homeowner actually wants. That was the situation here. Between stump removal, rough grading, and a lawn that needed to be built back from scratch, there was real work to do before anything looked good. We handled all of it.

We started with the heavy lifting - stump removal, grading the entire yard to a clean slope, then bringing in fresh topsoil across the whole space. Once the grade was right and the soil was down, we seeded the entire area and covered it with hay to hold moisture and protect the seed while it establishes. Done right, that prep work is what separates a lawn that actually fills in from one that patches and struggles.

On the hardscape side, we extended the existing pool deck with a new paver patio section to create a dedicated grill area. The charcoal-toned pavers tie directly into the existing flagstone pool surround, keeping the whole space visually connected. The raised step detail where the new section meets the deck gives it a clean, intentional look rather than just tacking on more surface area.

This is a good example of why it pays to have one crew handle both the hardscape and the lawn work. The grading around the paver edge, the transitions, the way everything drains - it all gets planned together instead of pieced together after the fact. The result is a yard that functions well, not just one that looks good in photos.
